for me its usually oddly random instances that don't seem to matter or be meaningful but then after a while they tend to define that era of life. or at least what i was feeling during those instances is drawn out and then attached to that era of my life.
I meant like just one memory snuck up and hit you in the face. One single thing that happened to you that you kind of forgot happened, but then you encountered the place, or song, or person that made you suddenly remember it, and it was such a strong emotional memory that it just stopped you dead. That happened to me the other day. It was rather unpleasant actually. It was a memory I wish I could forget.
